 Our Strategy for Relief and Response to Haiti Earthquake: January 14, 2010

 The Earthquake in Haiti

On Tuesday, January 12, an earthquake measuring a 7.0 magnitude struck Haiti near its capital city of Port-au-Prince. The damage to this country is extensive and the number of injured or dead is estimated to be in the thousands, perhaps the hundreds of thousands.

ServLife International is part of an on the ground network that is bringing emergency supplies to survivors of this catastrophe.

ServLife Accepting Donations for Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti

We are accepting donations that will be used for direct aid for victims of this horrific catastrophe. Thousands have been impacted and the death toll is not known. On January 12, 2010, at 4:53 p.m. EST, the worst earthquake to hit Haiti in over 200 years, measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit the country. The epicenter of the quake was just off the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, sparking a tsunami watch for parts of the Caribbean, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. ServLife Year-End Goal – $50,000: Restoring Hope to Children and the Global Poor

We have set a year-end goal to raise $50,000 (above and beyond normal gifts for the month of December) to support the ongoing work of ServLife International around the world. Your support serves the mission of ServLife to restore hope to children and the global poor through:

1. Training Indigenous Leaders to share Christ and start churches

2. Rescuing and Caring for Children at Risk through orphanages and sponsorships

3. Starting Small businesses among the poor

Monetary Donations Needed to Supply Winter Clothing to Children in Nepal and India

We are accepting monetary donations to help provide much needed winter clothing for children in Nepal and India that ServLife is caring for. This includes kids in our children’s homes and other children in the community that ServLife workers minister to.

Here is what your donation could do:

  • $25 will buy a winter coat for one child
  • $10 will buy a pair of pants or a warm top
  • $5 will buy a pair of mittens or a hat
  • $1 will buy a pair of socks

Each of these items are desperately needed. Please consider helping to give these wonderful children and warm and happy holiday season!

Write to Your Sponsor Child Using New Online Form

Children Sponsorship Letter WritingThrough our children sponsorship program, children in the regions of the world that we work get an education, healthy food, love, and opportunities to hear the love of Christ. Another great reward through sponsoring a child is building a relationship and staying connected to their continued development through letter writing.

Here are the various ways you can get involved:

  • Make a one-time donation to a campaign (don’t need to register for this)
  • Go a step further and create a team and invite others to help you raise funds for Servlife and a project
  • Set a goal to raise a specific amount with your friends

  • Help Supply a New Testament Audio Players for Local Workers

    AudioHelp supply one of these New Testament Audio Players for ServLife’s 80 church planters that will be attending ServLife’s annual leadership conference on November 12.  We are also desire to supply another 40 to other workers who work with us in their native language. Give to this Project

    The audio player contains the following features:

    •An installed microchip contains Scriptures in the heart language; the chip will not erase or wear out from frequent playing.

    •The battery will play for 15 hours and can be recharged enough times to play the entire New Testament more than 1,000 times.

    •Has a built-in generator and solar panel to charge the battery

    Winter Clothes Needed for Orphans and Children in India and Nepal

    ServLife reaches over 250 children through our sponsorship program. We reach many more children through outreach in the community through our over 125 indigenous mission workers and church planters that we have trained in our one year training program.
