The Bible says that pure religion is to care for the orphan (James 1:17) – and the number of children orphaned through disease, war and poverty is staggering.* God calls Himself a helper and a father to the fatherless… (Ps 10:14; 68:5). But as followers of Him, we’re called to advocate these children and work for their highest good.
