In the fall of 2008, ServLife will host a training Institute for new ServLife staff members. The ServLife Training Institutue (STI) will be required for new staff members and will be held in Indianapolis, IN. This is part of the Co-Send Initiative, where ServLife is working with churches to co-send “workers” to the far corners of the globe. There, workers will extend the Kingdom of God among the last, the least, and the lost through rescuing and caring for at-risk children, ending hunger, and helping train and multiply the local indigenous church. Read more about the Co-Send Initiative.
A two year minimum requirement is needed. A number of guides, facilitators, and friends from around the world will be at the STI to help guide teaching and times of spiritual formation. These will consist of pastors, missiologists, practioners, and ministry leaders. The goal of the institute will not be to offer full courses on each topic but give introduction and encouragement in life-long learning in your ministry with ServLife. The Training Institute is not a replacement for undergraduate or post-graduate studies.
The focus of the Institute will be the following issues:
• Spiritual formation and learning from the monastic tradition on solitude, silence, and engaging God in every day
• Equipping practitioners in Kingdom Theology and missiology
• Developing ministry and strategy
• Servant Leadership
• Holistic training for global ministry
