ServLife Hosting Missional Theology Conference for Indigenous African Leaders In South Africa

ServLife will be hosting the first Missional Theology Conference in South Africa July 10-12, in collaboration with Umzimba, a newly forming group of young African pastors and theologians who have joined together to write, debate, plant churches, and train leaders in new ways.

Orphans in Nepal Receive Letters from Children on the Other Side of the World

In May, Joel Vestal, along with volunteer Dave Garrison, delivered numerous letters, pictures, and gifts to orphans in ServLife’s children home in Nepal. The letters, written and prepared by the children’s sponsors, were an absolute joy for the children. For those children who don’t have sponsors, two area churches’ youth and children’s ministries wrote letters and drew pictures to be delivered. Read the rest of this entry »

Local Mission Worker, Anokh, Helping to Restore the Truth of the Gospel in Chhattisgarh, India

Anokh.jpgAnokh is a single man raised in a Christian family. He was born in the state of Chhattisgarh, which is located in the east-central region of India. He arrived at the ServLife’s Leadership Training Institute in India, in June of 2003 and graduated on May 29, 2004. ServLife has been working in India for 12 years and one our goals is to see how transformation can happen for generations to come. We embarked on a building project 3 years ago and purchased land in North India to see a long term impact happen in one of the hardest regions.

ServLife Training Institute in India Graduates Sixth Class of Indigenous Workers

On May 17th, 2008, ServLife’s Leadership Training Institute in Bihar, India, graduated seven new local workers. This is the sixth graduation class to complete the leadership training program in India, and since the training institute was started in 2001, over 60 local workers have been trained through it. The training lasts one year, and these workers will now go back to their home and work amongst their villages, planting new churches, and sharing Christ with their communities. ServLife Enables Aid for Orphans in Sierra Leone

ServLife has been partnering with Mercy Children’s Orphanage in Sierra Leone, West Africa, since 2007. The orphanage was started by a native from Africa, Emmanuel Shaw, whom Indianapolis local, Rachel Dryden, met while volunteering on Mercy Ships four years ago. The orphanage currently has 10 children in its care and the children have all been abandoned or have lost their parents to illness or civil war.
